Hands up if your MLM or Networking Marketing company asked you to write a warm list. Then asked you to consider doing free forms of advertising like handing out numerous flyers. Oh, let us not forget your monthly attendance of those laborious hotel meetings which are supposed to hype you up and keep you on track until the next meeting.

Does this sound familiar? I should know because when I joined my first network marketing company I was told to use these same techniques. My sponsor told me to make a list of 100 or more people that I knew and basically call every one of them to ask and see if they would be interested in making some extra money. I cringe now when I think of what I actually did just to try and get my home business up and started.

I was not a sales person and hated doing this. I was constantly faced with questions I wasn't able to answer as I just didn't have the knowledge to,. So here I was phoning my 'warm market' it was a sickening feeling when I did manage to get through on the telephone and started reading through my well prepared script, I was getting people putting down their phone on me, saying abusive things, and all in all I was faced with nothing but rejection. I felt so down and remember thinking I am just not cut out for this business, I hated cold calling and talking to people, trying to win them over. It was hard work.

I then looked to purchasing leads, they were really expensive and not really qualified leads, even though the company said they should have been. Well you know the rest, this only led me to even more phone call rejections, some of them were quite rude actually, and not only that, I was spending a bunch of money buying leads which I really didn't have. So where did this lead me. Here I was out of money and had nothing to show for it apart from a list of leads. I kept the leads, but what good were having a bunch of people who were simply not interested in what I had to offer.

I was at an all time low and gave up on how to get leads effectively. However, on my quest to finding out if there is life after 'old school marketing' I came across this web site by Mike Dillard - His site offered a 7 Day Free Video Boot Camp. In these 7 free videos Mike explained how I could attract an endless stream of prospects to me ready to join and actually get paid to prospect. I have started to use his techniques and they are beginning to show the results he talked about.

Well for the first time in 6 years of being in the network marketing industry leads are coming to my site free of charge and are qualified leads. They have been directed to my site through some of the techniques I have begun to use from Mike Dillards Magnetic Sponsoring Program. Here are some of the simple things I have begun to do:

1. Blogging - I had a blog previously, but did not realise the value or the benefits of using my blog to drive traffic to my website. using some simple advice such as using keyword searches and writing around those, as well as linking my article posts to my blog has generate leads to my site and I didn't pay a penny. There are lots of other things too, but you will have to look at the video's yourself to get more details.

2. Squidoo Lens - another great idea given in this program which takes you through step by step how to set up a lens and then how to monetise it and link it to your other sites.

In all, the magnetic sponsoring programme eliminated the need for me to cold call any leads. Now, when a lead comes into my website, I know they want to be there, so when I call them I don't have to be selling anything to them, as they already sold themselves.
